It knows the words, but not the music. From the opening shots of an entirely abondoned city, I thought I was in for one hell of a horro movie. It is the last third, that looses steam. The film opened to good reviews from critics, and seemed to be praised by most of the people who saw it, but for bulletface trailer 2010 reason it did not have such a big impact on me. Again, I enjoyed the first half really well, but when it gets to the last third, it really slows down and takes a much different tone. Just giving that whole set up sends an errie feel down my spine. It is the perfect horrow movie plot, that needs no further explaining of anything. After being chased into an old torn down building, he eventually meets 3 strangers. A father and daughter, who are trying to find help and a tough as nails African American girl. Together they finally encounter a Military base and this is where the film goes wrong. Insted of keeping with the tone of the rest of the film, it simply takes the wrong way out and ultimately is not satiesfying. There are a few nice touches of blood and gore here and there, but probally not as much as some might be expecting. The film also lack originality. It has such a routine plot under all the virus talk, that we can pretty much see this one a mile away, but that never takes away from the enjoyment of the film.
